Cimex Inc., the authorized distributor of BYD electric vehicles in Nepal, has increased the prices of two of its popular EV models following changes in customs duties and the introduction of a green infrastructure fee under the government's latest budget.
BYD Atto 2 Price Increased by NPR 3.04 Lakh
According to the revised pricing, the BYD Atto 2 has become more expensive by NPR 3.04 lakh, taking its new price to NPR 48.99 lakh. Previously, the model was available at NPR 45.95 lakh.
The compact SUV features 200 mm ground clearance, a 51 kWh battery pack, and a 100 kW electric motor. BYD claims the vehicle can deliver a driving range of up to 345 kilometers on a single full charge.
Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the Atto 2 measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.
BYD Atto 3 Advanced Variant Also Gets a Price Hike
The price of the BYD Atto 3 Advanced Variant has also been increased. The model now costs NPR 61.99 lakh, up by NPR 2 lakh from its previous price of NPR 59.99 lakh.
The Atto 3 is equipped with a 60.48 kWh battery that offers a claimed driving range of 425 kilometers on a single charge. It is powered by a 100 kW electric motor.
In terms of dimensions, the Atto 3 measures 4,455 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,615 mm in height. It features a wheelbase of 2,720 mm and offers 434 liters of boot space.
Modern Features Available on Both Models
Both the BYD Atto 2 and Atto 3 come equipped with a range of advanced features, including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, voice control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity, and a panoramic sunroof.
The company stated that the latest price adjustments were made in response to increased import costs resulting from the government's new customs and green infrastructure charges introduced through the latest national budget.
